This is a 130 year
old barn we are currently in the process
of restoring and converting into living
space. The project began with lifting
the structure to allow for a new
foundation on which the barn now sits.
Then, we added on a small addition to
accommodate a new kitchen and stairs
going to the second floor and basement.
Next we will add a dormer, new windows,
and doors to the existing building.
Finally the interior space will be
remodeled.
Our objective is to convert the barn
into a comfortable and functional home
while maintaining the feeling of being
in beautifully restored space. Original
beams will be exposed and reclaimed
lumber will be used in all possible
areas. We are very conscientious of
maintaining the building’s original
features and trim details. All in all,
this is a very satisfying experience as
we watch the transformation of this
historic barn into a new living space.
