Michelle has extensive background in the custom home design process. Her architectural experience ranges from drawing for Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders in Chatham MA,  to Breakwater Builders’ in Brewster to Cape Dreams Building and Design in South Orleans, and many more.

Her eye for aesthetic detail combined with her expertise with auto cad drawing programs produce designs that are both functional and impressive to the eye. We have been working with Michelle for quite a few years now and our customers’ feedback has been very positive. The key to our success has been the concept of a team working together for one common goal: meeting the client’s needs.

Michelle and Paul van Steensel, the principal of Cape Dreams Building and Design, work side by side throughout the design phase of the project. From the very first day when we meet with our clients and discuss their needs, desires, and miscellaneous ideas, our team approach produces satisfying results. The builder and architect must create not only a working relationship, but also a continuous communication (on and off the job site) to ensure that the client’s design is not only drawn how they want, but also built they way they need. Dean Miller has been producing fine custom built cabinetry, built-ins, and breath-taking interior finish work for well over twenty-five years. His experience installing hundreds kitchens for Mid-Cape Home Centers as well as for himself has brought to light many of the complexities involved in the kitchen design and installation process.

Only a highly experienced and extremely detail oriented kitchen installer can bring the necessary knowledge of the kitchen design process, from initial walk-through to computer generated images to installation of drawer handles and knobs, that is required to ensure that not only the client’s wants are met, but perhaps more importantly that their kitchen is as functional and “user-friendly” as it is beautiful.

Dean will walk through your existing kitchen or newly constructed kitchen space and begin the process, as a true professional should.  He will not only listen to you, but also will “hear” what you are saying and focus on what you need from you kitchen. Then and only then do we discuss what particular cabinets, their sizes, and arrangements will best suit the space… where the sink, refrigerator and dishwasher should go, etc.

From that point, a design has begun to take shape….a computer generated image of the kitchen’s exact cabinets and countertop is produced and the client can see exactly what the kitchen will look like upon completion. From there, the process continues to transfer smoothly into the “details of the kitchen” phase where a client has many aesthetic options; such as door style, cabinet species, molding choices, hardware selections, drawer slide options, etc. 

Ultimately, the process lends itself to a final product that is both highly functional and aesthetically beautiful.
